The mock circuit
The 14-station circuit
The whole exam, end to end: 16 stations back to back over three hours thirty-six, of which 14 are scored, with no marks until it is over. It shows you how your consultations hold up at station sixteen compared with station one.
Plus two unscored stations you will not be able to pick out, and four ten-minute rest stations.
A pass is 9 of the 14 scored stations.
No marks until it is over, and rest stations cannot be skipped. Circuits need a pass and use sixteen stations of your 24-hour limit.

How your feedback is generated

You speak with the simulated patient for the length of the station.

Speech-recognition software converts the conversation into a written transcript, which you can read afterwards.

ClinicalVitals analyses the consultation
A language model evaluates the transcript against the ClinicalVitals feedback rubric for that station, with reference to current clinical guidelines.

You receive structured feedback
A score and comment per category, strengths, misses, any safety concerns, and notes against specific lines of the transcript.
AI-generated feedback can occasionally be incorrect or incomplete. ClinicalVitals is a practice tool, not an official AMC examiner. If a mark looks wrong, the problem button on the scorecard tells us.
The patient can interrupt
Full-duplex audio: you can cut in and redirect as you would in the room, and the patient can do the same. Each station keeps the same patient voice every time you sit it.
The timing is fixed
2 minutes reading, then 8 minutes consulting, with a chime at one minute left. The countdown runs against a real deadline and cannot be paused.
An examiner responds to requests
Ask for examination findings or investigations and the examiner answers aloud. In the closing minutes a bell rings and their questions appear on screen for you to answer.
Your accent is not an assessment criterion
ClinicalVitals assesses the content and structure of your consultation, not whether you sound like a native English speaker. Speech recognition can occasionally produce transcription errors, so transcript-based feedback should be read with that limitation in mind.

Built by an IMG who sat the exam
ClinicalVitals is a small independent product. It was built by an international medical graduate who prepared for and sat the AMC Clinical Examination, and who wanted a way to practise consultations out loud, against the clock, without needing a study partner available at the same hour.

No. ClinicalVitals is independent educational software. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Australian Medical Council or any other examining body. We name the exam only to say which one this helps you practise for. Read the full disclaimer.
Is the free station really free?
Yes — one full station, no credit card. It is the station we mark free in the catalogue, and it is a full one: same timing, same scorecard and transcript as a paid station. A pass is what opens the rest. You can also try a 3-minute taster without an account; you sign up only when you want a station marked.
Is the feedback an official score?
No. ClinicalVitals feedback is designed for exam preparation. It is not an official AMC score and cannot predict your examination result. The categories are our own, built around the skills the exam assesses.
What does it cost, and does it renew?
$200 AUD for 3 months, or $70 AUD for 14 days. Each is a single payment. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel. If you buy a second pass while one is live, it starts when the first one ends. See pricing.
Can I sit the same station again?
Yes, as often as you like while your pass is live — a repeat is an ordinary sitting and counts against the usage limit like any other. Each one is marked on its own, so you can sit a station, read the feedback, and sit it again to see whether the changes landed.
What is the usage limit?
Every station in the catalogue, as often as you like, for as long as your pass runs — and up to 20 stations per rolling 24 hours, one at a time. The limit exists so a single login cannot be shared or scripted; it is well above what a candidate sits in a day.
Can a person review my station?
Yes, as an optional add-on: $49 AUD for one station, requested from your scorecard after you have sat it. A ClinicalVitals reviewer reads your transcript and returns written feedback, usually within 5 days. It is a one-off charge for that station and is separate from any pass. It is educational feedback, not official marking.
What is the refund policy?
If the service is not what you expected, ask within 20 days of purchase and we will refund the pass. Use the contact button in the corner of any page.
What if my connection drops mid-station?
A station you have started stays resumable for 15 minutes, so a reload or a browser crash does not cost you the sitting. After that it frees up automatically and does not count against your usage limit.
